Hi All,

Thank you to everyone who attended Sports Ball, and congratulations to all our award winners - I hope you all had a great night. We have a few messages for you before you all disappear for the summer:

Club Email accounts:
Please make sure that you keep an eye on your club email accounts over the summer. Information regarding pre season and driver registration amongst other things will be sent out to them throughout the summer.

Leavers Lists:
The move to online memberships means we can build your alumni databases a lot more easily from this year. However, we need a list of graduating members from you to start the process. They also need to opt in to receive updates from your club so please mark who would like to be contacted, and who would not when you send the lists in. Please send the list in by Friday 5th June.

Re-Affiliation & Memberships:
We're working our way through all of the re-affiliation submissions and will be in touch to confirm that we have everything soon. Apologies for the delay with this!

MARS Milk Play Fund:
Your club could will a donation of £300, or even £1000, by applying to the MARS Milk Play Fund. There are two awards of £300 every two weeks and a monthly draw of £1000. A poster with further information is attached.

Paid Sports Coaching Opportunities in Fife:
Please see the attached flyer with for more details.

Saints Sport Satisfaction Survey:
We need your feedback! Please circulate the following survey around your members https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/868N99L

Keep us updated:
We know a number of you have things planned for over the summer, so please let us know via Facebook, Twitter and email what you're up to. The Sports Centre and AU Office are open all summer, so please get in contact with your news.

Dear All,

One of the final bulletins of the year so just a few things for you this week: 

Admin deadline:
A reminder that the final deadline for re-affiliation and any outstanding claims is tomorrow, Friday 8th May. Late submission may result in a fine for your club so please make every effort to complete it on time. With the end of the year approaching, please also make sure that club pigeon holes are emptied before leaving for the summer.

Sports Ball:
Tables have now been allocated for Sports Ball on 21st May. Demand has been exceptionally high this year so if you are unable to fill your allocations, please let me know and I can pass the spaces on to another club. Tables must be confirmed and payment made by Wednesday 13th May.
We have a much larger capacity for the Afterparty, so anyone who missed out on dinner can still join in with the celebrations. Tickets are £10, including return transport to Dundee and entry to Liquid, and can be reserved by emailing me.

Transport:
Next week is Elaine Mason's last week before the summer so any requests for transport must be in by Friday 15th May to guarantee the booking.

Pre Season Accommodation:
We have managed to negotiate accommodation in Andrew Melville during Pre Season this year, for £60 for the week. The cost will need to be met by either the individual or the club - 
we will shortly be contacting incoming students who have listed sport in their personal statement to invite them to pre season so be aware that this is an option and have a think if you would be able to contribute to the cost of their accommodation.

Blues & Colours Winners:
Congratulations to all of our award winners! If you were unable to make the Awards Night last week, Blues & Half Blues certificates can be collected from the AU Office. Colours certificates have been put in club pigeon holes to be distributed.

Promotional video:
We're incredibly excited to have launched our first Saints Sport Promotional Video. Filmed and produced by BAFTA and EMMY award winner Keith Partridge, we're using this video to change perceptions of student life at St Andrews and show that students here get a world class academic experience along with the opportunity to perform at high levels in sport. Work at the Open:
Are you in St Andrews over the summer? If so, why not work at the Open.The dates of employment are Sunday 12th July –Sunday 19th July 2015. There will be additional training days on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th July. Applicants will be required to work every day during this period.

The basic salary is £6.50 an hour, Supervisor positions will be higher.  Shifts will be split into a morning and an afternoon shift.Applicants can apply direct via: www.theopenstaffing2015.com

Sports Ball table allocations:
Entry to the ballot for Sports Ball tables closes tomorrow. Each club may apply for up to 2 tables of 10 for the event on Thursday 21st May, with tickets priced at £50 including transport, dinner, ceilidh and afterparty. Afterparty only ticket details will be announce closer to the time.

Committee Contact details:
A reminder to send the contact details of your new committees to Amy as soon as possible. Please also join the facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/347550495438271/ 

Pre Season
Pre Season is taking place from 30th August - 4th September. Please submit all registers and requests for support (driving, accommodation, facilities, transport, financial) using the form attached – note two separate tabs on spreadsheet. This needs to be received by Debby (dls4) by Friday 8th May. 
Final confirmation of squad members to be received by 31st July 2015Clubs will be fined if people sign up for Pre-Season but do not attend.
If your Club has an affiliated Directors of Sport/Head Coach you will need to consult with them in the first instance to organise pre-season

Cross Country - Beginners Run
The St. Andrews Cross Country club is excited to announce a new initiative aimed at entry level runners, who wish to enjoy running in St. Andrews without the pressures of high mileages or fast times.  We will be creating a beginner’s run at 2pm on Wednesday afternoons leaving from the sports center which will be between 2-5km. Hi All,

It's been a big week with teams in promotion playoffs and the first ever University-wide Alumni weekend happening this weekend. This week's bulletin is a long one but please bear with me as there is a lot of important end of year information:

Alumni Weekend:
Please keep us posted as to how your alumni activities are going. The weekend's hashtag is #AlumFestStA so please include that in any tweets sent out over the weekend. It goes without saying that we expect social media to be used responsibly - as this is the first time we've run an event like this, the University are keeping a close eye on things so please think about what is being promoted!
Development are keen to monitor numbers over the weekend so it would be hugely helpful if you could email me with numbers of alumni who returned for the weekend.

End of Year Photos & Video:
We are looking to put together an end of year video so please send any photos or video you have from the year to Jon at design@saints-sport.com

Car accidents:
The University Insurance Department have been in contact over the high number of accidents being reported in recent weeks. The majority of accidents could have been avoided, for example using other passengers to provide support when reversing. Please pass the message on to your drivers to take extra care when out and about.

PlayerLayer Kit:
Thank you to everyone who came along to meet with PlayerLayer over the past couple of weeks. They were really impressed by the enthusiasm and commitment to sport here in St Andrews. If you weren't able to make it and would like to place an advance order please get in touch and we can pass on your details. In addition please remember that if you are placing any orders for social T-shirts or committee clothing, it needs to go through PlayerLayer in the first instance.

You will be emailed a separate booking confirmation by Elaine once the booking has been made. You can also check your bookings on the confirmation page of the CMP

Transport Overspends:
Any overspend must be paid by Friday 8th May.

Colour Run:
Today is the final day to buy tickets for the Colour Run, in aid of UK Sport IDEALS and Saints Stellenbosch Outreach

Sports Ball:
Sports Ball will take place on Thursday 21st May at the Apex Hotel in Dundee. Tickets for the dinner will cost £50 and include transport, 3 course meal, ceilidh and afterparty ticket. Each club may apply for up to two tables of 10. Tickets will be allocated by ballot - applications for tables must be sent topresident@saints-sport.com by Friday 24th May. Afterparty tickets will also be available, details to follow.

Exec Applications:
Applications for next year's exec close tomorrow (Friday 10th April). Completed applications should be sent to Pete on peb7@st-andrews.ac.uk

New Committees:
Please add your new committees to the facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/347550495438271/. While we collate the new committee lists, correspondence will continue to be sent to club accounts and 2014/15 committee members so please make sure to pass information on to new members.

Club Excellence Session:
On Tuesday 14th April at 6:30pm, there will be a session for all new club captains help in School 2 in St Salvators Quad.  This session will not only provide vital information for the year ahead, it will also give you chance to nominate yourself for a role on the interview panel for the new Athletic Union Executive Committee.  Every club must be represented at this meeting, any questions can be directed to Pete Burgon on peb7@st-andrews.ac.uk.

PlayerLayer Kit meetings:
PlayerLayer wiill be in town  on Tuesday 14th April and Wednesday 15th April to meet clubs to discuss kit so please sign up for a slot here: http://doodle.com/eamu5tsrsz7mq4zi
As part of the agreement with them, ALL kit - leisurewear and team wear, including social T-shirts - must be discussed with them in the first instance so make sure that you all get along to talk to them. Please note a change of venue for Wednesday morning slots - all meetings will now take place at the Sports Centre.

May Dip Clean Up:
Each year, the University of St Andrews students take part in May Dip on the dawn of 1 May to honour the memory of John Honey. To help us preserve the tradition for future years, the Students' Association and Student Services ask for your help with a clean up of East Sands following the event. Bin bags, gloves, and free breakfast shall be provided to all volunteers! Please sign up via the Doodle poll: http://doodle.com/qy2iipww3mix8nkh. If you sign up, you will be responsible to show up in a reasonable state to help at 5am. Contact Ondrej (dorep@st-andrews.ac.uk) for more info.

Colour Run:

Alumni Festival Weekend:
Not long to go until the first University Alumni Festival Weekend, run in conjunction with the Students Association and Development. I hope you have all had a good first week back. There are a number of crucial dates coming up, please make sure you take a note of them:

Sinners:
The final Sinners of the semester will be taking place on Wednesday 8th April. There are a limited number of tickets still available so email me with your reservations to guarantee your club tickets. Collection will be on Wednesday between 3-5 in the AU office.

PlayerLayer Kit meetings:

I hope you're all enjoying the break. Its been an exciting week for us with with redevelopment as the steels for the new sports arena started to go up! 
Lots of information for you this week to go out to all members so please make sure to circulate it all.

AGM deadline:
Unless you have already spoken to us, all AGMs should have taken place. Please send your new committee details to Amy on secretary@saints-sport.com by Friday 3rd April.  New committees should join the Facebook group for the coming year at https://www.facebook.com/groups/347550495438271/?fref=ts

Blues & Colours Nominations:
Criteria for this year's Blues & Colours has been sent out and nominations should be submitted by Friday 3rd April. Please note there was an error on the form - if you would like to submit a nomination for Athlete of the Year and have already submitted your club's nominations, please contact Amy directly with your nominations.

Hall of Fame nominations:
Please send any nominations for Hall of Fame to me by Friday 3rd April for consideration by the awards committee.

AU Exec Positions 2015-2016:
A reminder that applications for the AU Exec for the coming year are now open for the positions of Secretary, Treasurer, Alumni Officer, Publicity and Media Officer and Events Officer. The deadline for applications is Friday 10th April  and job descriptions can be found under 'AUApplications will then be shortlisted and successful candidates invited to interview. To apply, please send a CV, covering letter and proof of good standing with the University to Pete on peb7@st-andrews.ac.uk

Jonny Wookey Game:
The annual varsity Ice Hockey match will take place on Tuesday 7th April. Any clubs wishing to reserve tickets should contact

Sinners:

Colour Run:
The Colour Run is back! In aid of the UK Sport IDEALS and Saints Stellenbosch Outreach volunteers, the Colour Run will take place on Wednesday 22nd April. Ticket details will be announced soon, keep up to date at https://www.facebook.com/events/327433494132755/ If anyone would like to help on the day, please drop me a message.

Player Movement:
For those teams still with matches left, please make sure that you adhere to the BUCS rules (attached) - players cannot play down a team for any reason. If a team fields an illegible player, it is a walkover to the other team. Please also make sure that your team line sheet is updated and taken to each match.

Newsletter contributions:
Remember to keep sending your contributions for Saints Sport news to Jon on design@saints-sport.com. It's been a busy time with trips and closing league matches so make sure you let us know what your club has been up to.

Hope you've had a good elections week! Just a few things to note in this weeks bulletin:

Sports Massage Service:
Sessions will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.00-3.30pm and can be booked as 30 min, 60 min or 90 min appointments. Sessions will start from Tuesday 10th March and will be charged at £20 for 30mins, £40 for 60mins and £60 for 90mins. Bookings can be made at Reception.

Club Development Meetings

Hi All,

Another busy week this week, well done to all of you in action at the weekend at BUCS Nationals and yesterday. Just a few things for you this week:

AU Hecklings:

AU Hecklings will take place on Tuesday at 6pm in School 6. All clubs must send at least one representative to the Hecklings.


Video Competition:

The deadline for this month's competition is just around the corner. Submissions must be in by 28th February. 


What does it mean to be a Saint?:

Please circulate the attached questions to your club members and return by Friday 6th March. We're keen to get your views on what it means to you to be a Saint.

Saints Sport Blazers 

Saints Sport are considering introducing a Saints Sport Blazer for teams, Exec members and staff to better represent Saints Sport at fixtures, events and functions.  If your club would be interested in being at the forefront of this initiative and having Saints Sport blazers for your squads then please contact Ferg Knight on frk@st-andrews.ac.uk.  While there would be a cost associated with the blazers, it is hoped that this could be subsidised by Saints Sport to allow greater numbers of people to take advantage.

Dear All,

What a fantastic day of sport we had yesterday! It was amazing to see our teams doing so well against some of the biggest names in university sport, well done to all involved. Some important information for you this week:

Handover Club Excellence:

A reminder that the AGM/Handover Club Excellence session for old/new committees will be held tonight at 6pm in Physics Lecture Theatre B.   The session is intended for anyone in current or prospective club committees who would like to know more about the process.


Elections:

Nominations open today, followed by a week of campaigning from Friday 27th February. The AU Hecklings will take place on Tuesday 3rd March at 6pm in School 6 in the Quad. Each club must send one representative, however we encourage as many of your club to attend as possible. 

The Sabbatical Debate will take place in Parliament Hall on Wednesday 4th March.


Sinners:

Sinners is back next Wednesday (25th February). Each club may reserve 20 tickets through the AU at £2 each and there will be a limited number available on the door. Social secs can reserve tickets by emailing me with the number of tickets you would like, and wristbands can be collected from the AU Office on Tuesday 24th between 3 and 5pm.


Green Sports Award:

Your club can win a cash prize of £100 for environmentally friendly initiatives and outreach. For more information, please contact Lynsey Smith from the Environment Team on las93.


Winning Students:

Talented student athletes and school leavers set for study can apply annually for a Winning Students Individual Scholarship. Before completing a nomination form, please check you also meet the general selection criteria.


Working Groups:

Thank you to those who have already expressed interest. We still have spaces available on the working groups for the Awards Night and Sports Ball if anyone else would like to get involved.


Video Competition:

We launched our video competition this week. Each month a prize of £250 towards a camera of your clubs choice will be awarded for the best submission. See the attached document for all the guidelines.
